Available Positions:

The Accounting Clerk will report directly to the Controller and is responsible for processing all vendor/subcontractor invoices, processing client payments/bank deposits, purchasing, and entering project field packs into the ERP system.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain vendor/subcontractor files in ERP in compliance with company policies.
  • Review and record vendor invoices, billing to appropriate project and accounts.
  • Monitor aged accounts payable reports.
  • Process payments via checks, bank bill pay, and automatic payments.
  • Record customer receipts (checks, credit card, ACH) to appropriate project and make bank deposits.
  • Reconcile monthly credit card charges for employees and company.
  • Prepare purchase orders, negotiate pricing with vendors, and place supplies orders.
  • Maintain filing system (physical and digital) for vendors and projects as needed.
  • Enter project field packs into ERP.
  • Monitor postage machine funds and assist with shipping.
  • Maintain miscellaneous company forms and workbooks.
  • Update and maintain AP and AR standard operating procedures.
  • Cover for front office as needed.
  • Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
  • Assist in streamlining and improving the accounts payable, purchasing, and accounts receivable processes.

Skills

  • Proven experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Data entry skills, attention to detail, and good with numbers
  • Good understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting
  • Understands compliance issues with accounts payable (W-9, subcontractor COIs, use tax).
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Working knowledge of office equipment; printers, fax system, VOIP phone system
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint a plus
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize

Education and Experience

  • Equivalent of a high school diploma. Post-secondary degree in Clerical/Business/Accounting a plus
  • Minimum of two years of AP, AR, or accounting experience required

We are looking to hire a college intern for the Consulting Department. The intern should be working on a degree in Geology, Science, Environmental and Earth Sciences, Biology or other degree. The candidate will need to have full day/s available to be able to go to job sites and a large block of time is needed.

Mountain Research typically hires college interns in the environmental fields.  We will be evaluating the positions for fall, winter and summer interns.
