DRILLER and ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICIAN




DRILLER

Experienced Environmental and Geotechnical Driller Position available immediately. Our schedule is full and we are looking for a dependable and hard working person to fill this vital position.

This full time position includes frequent overnight travel - Monday through Friday (ocasional weekend) and working outdoors in all weather conditions.  Responsibilities include: performing geotechnical and environmental drilling functions (i.e. Hollow Stem Auger, Air Rotary, Rock Coring, etc); installing monitoring wells and soil borings; groundwater/soil sampling and other geological / hydrogeological investigations; maintenance and operations of company drill rigs and other field equipment; maintenance of remediation systems; driving company vehicles including rollback truck requiring  CDL Class B license.

Qualifications:

Valid CDL Class B with clean driving record

Education: High School degree or equivalent

Experience: 2-3 years environmental and/or geotechnical drilling, heavy equipment operations.

Skills: Ability to follow and carry out simple instructions, emails, use electronic logging devices for hours of service. Ability to communicate verbally and / or written with peers, supervisors and / or clients. Smartphone and computer skills to complete simple electronic tasks.

ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNICIAN

This position/s is for an entry level environmental technician in our consulting department. You must be able to tolerate all weather conditions and some overnight travel is required. Monday - Friday though an occasional weekend may be included.

Duties: groundwater and soil sample collection, geological / hydrogeological investigations, remediation system operations and maintenance, assistance in drilling operations, environmental site assessments and a variety of other environmental field processes.

Educational Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in a science discipline: Geology, Environmental, Biology, etc is preferred, though not necessary.

Skills/knowledge required: computer skills (word, excel, outlook), proficient with field equipment, PID meter, drill rigs, data loggers, etc., Mechanical ability in making minor repairs on equipment is a major plus. A valid drivers license and clean driving record, a must.

Professional certification aspirations, a plus. OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER training, Pennsylvania Underground Storage Tank certifications, a plus.

Internships

Mountain Research typically hires college interns in the environmental or laboratory fields.  We will be evaluating the positions for fall, winter and summer interns.
